Environmental Impact
Building with the Veerhuis techniques/system, which is in essence limited to the outer shell (skin) of the building only, has the following positive effects on the environment.
It gives a dramatic decrease in the Energy consumption of the building of up to 70% during the full life span of the building. Also in the construction and during the demolition it is saving energy
It reduces the emission of CO2 and other greenhouse gasses;
LWS and EPS are nearly 100% reusable and recyclable.
The wall system needs less to none maintenance
It generates no solid waste.
It reduces transport and less heavy machineries; 25 % of all transport on the roads is directly related to the Building and Construction Industry (BCI).
Less transport leads to less traffic problems( less CO2, less Energy, less fine dust and other Green House Gasses )
It will decrease the depletion of natural resources, such as wood, soil, sand, cement, potable water,
The production of EPS uses 50 % less energy in comparison with alternative materials
EPS produces 7 times less GHG emission tan alternative materials
EPS is chemically neutral and neutral to the environment.
It contains no Radon, causes no cancer, has no asbestos, causes no or less work related injuries( fatalities, Lost time accidents, Musculoskeletal diseases),is ozone friendly.
